Main Street's Old Bones
Reisterstown's Main Street corridor holds some of Baltimore County's oldest homes — stone farmhouses and early brick buildings from the 1700s and 1800s. Their foundations are thick, hand-laid, and utterly unlike modern walls. Cutting an egress opening here is artisan work: slow sawing, careful support, and respect for the structure. We do it right or we do not do it.
The Newer Neighborhoods
Beyond the historic core, Reisterstown's subdivisions are standard county stock — block and poured walls, workable lots, basements ready for finishing. The contrast is sharp: a stone farmhouse job takes twice the cutting time of a subdivision ranch. We quote each for what it actually is.
Preserving While Improving
Reisterstown homeowners tend to love their old houses — and we get it. The egress window goes in the rear or side wall, below grade, invisible from the street. The historic character stays. The basement gets light, safety, and a legal bedroom. Old houses deserve to be safe houses.
